The Robe
The Robe - 1st Century AD In Tiberius's Rome, the young and noble Marcellus Gallius encounters the beautiful Diana at a slave auction. He had been in love with her since they were children and is now a ward of the emperor. Marcellus engages in a violent bidding war with Caligula, Tiberius's son and successor, and succeeds in stealing the Greek slave Demetrius from her. When the emperor learns of the dispute, he punishes Marcellus by sending him to Palestine as tribune. When he arrives, Pontius Pilate has just condemned Christ to death on the cross.
